ACT WRITERS CENTRE 2014 ANNE EDGEWORTH FELLOWSHIP FOR YOUNG ACT WRITERS IS NOW OPEN!
Are you an emerging writer under 35? Do you need up to $5,000 to develop your craft, skills and experience? Read on…
The Fellowship, now in its second year, has been established in memory of the late Canberra author and poet Anne Edgeworth (also known as Anne Godfrey Smith). Anne, who died in June 2011, mentored and encouraged many young writers throughout her writing career. Her family has established the Anne Edgeworth Writer’s Fellowship in her name. The Anne Edgeworth Writer’s Fellowship will be presented to an emerging writer under 35 in the ACT and surrounding regions and will be used to advance the recipients’ education in the craft of writing.
At a total of $5,000, it is the largest offering by the ACT Writers Centre and may be divided between two applicants. The winner/s will be announced at the 2014 ACT Writers Centre awards in December. Applications will be invited from published and unpublished writers in the fields of poetry, fiction writing, screenwriting and playwriting. Possible uses include tuition fees, travel, accommodation, printing and publishing, editing or attending a writers’ retreat. For more information or to submit an expression of interest please see www.actwriters.org.au or call 62629191
Applications close 17 October.
