In case you missed our exciting announcement, here it is for you. In conjunction with the ACT Writers Centre hosting the Boundless Festival keynote speech from Gabrielle Lord, we’re holding a short story writing competition.
Entry is free, and entires are open to everyone: just like the Boundless keynote launch, this is an open-age event. We’re looking for originality, expression, and a really great snippet of what could be a much bigger story.
The stimulus:
We’ve taken a sentence from the last page of the first Conspiracy 365 book, Code Black:
“Blindly, I felt my way around the walls.”
That sentence has to be the first sentence in your story. This is the only creative rule.
A Conspiracy 365 pack, including the most recent, yet-to-be-launched 14th book.
Two tickets to the Boundless Festival Keynote speech by Gabrielle Lord and featuring Jack Heath
Your story will be published in the November ACTWrite, the ACT Writers Centre’s monthly magazine. November’s theme is: Mystery, Thrillers and Crime.
The guidelines:
Submissions should not be over 600 words.
Send your entry to actwriters@gmail.com attached as a Word doc, single spaced, before Monday, October 1st.
