Here at the ACT Writers’ Centre, we’re all about words. We’re quite the fan of a good pun, hence our blog’s title. We also love films about words. Incidentally, we’ve just found one all about exactly the symbols and semantics we so love: The Words. The film opens Nationally on October 11th, but we’ve found ourselves in possession of a sizeable stack of single and double passes to a preview screening on October 3rd to give away to our members. Here’s a little more information about the film:
Starring Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Irons and Dennis Quaid, The Words follows young writer Rory Jansen who finally achieves his long sought after literary success after publishing the next great American novel.
There’s only one catch – he didn’t write it.
As the past comes back to haunt him and his literary star continues to rise, Jansen is forced to confront the steep price that must be paid for stealing another man’s work and for placing ambition and success above all else.
Thanks to Becker Film Group, we have 50 tickets to give away to a special pre-release screening at Event Cinema Manuka- 7pm Wednesday 3rd October – but seats are strictly limited, so you’ll have to be quick. Email actwriters@gmail.com with your name, and we’ll send you the link to book your seats.
